How to Set Up Your DFAS Allotment

Step-by-step guide to set up your allotment through myPay. This is not an automatic enrollment — you must set it up yourself.

Log into myPay
Visit mypay.dfas.mil and log in with your CAC or username/password. Ensure your account has no holds or pending actions.

Navigate to Allotments
From the main menu, select "Allotments" (under the Pay section). You will see your current allotments listed and options to add a new one.

Start a New Allotment
Click "Add Allotment" and select "Discretionary" type. This is the standard type for personal financial commitments.

Enter Your Allotment Details
Enter the following details exactly:

Financial Institution ABA Routing Number: Provided in your enrollment confirmation email
Account Number: Your unique MLA member account number (provided after enrollment)
Amount: Your total monthly allotment (contribution + $9.99 subscription)
⚠️ Do not submit the allotment until you have received your enrollment confirmation email with your unique account details.

Set Start Date
Set the allotment to begin on the 1st of the following month to ensure the first payment aligns with your coverage window start date.

Confirm and Save
Review all details carefully and submit. DFAS will process the change within 3–5 business days. Your MLA coverage window activates upon receipt of the first allotment payment.

Discharge & Separation Rules

Benefit payouts depend on the type and circumstances of your discharge.

✅ Honorable Discharge (EOS Only)
Full benefits unlock based on your contribution tier. Honorable discharge is only possible at the end of a completed enlistment — early separation is by definition not honorable.
⚠️ General Discharge (Under Honorable Conditions)
1 month of coverage only. Contributed funds remain locked until your original EAS date, then returned to you.
❌ OTH / BCD / Dishonorable
Complete forfeiture of all benefits. Funds remain in the pool until your original EAS date — they are NOT returned immediately or ever.
🔒 Early Release (Any Type)
Funds locked until your original EAS date regardless of discharge type. No exceptions for early release circumstances.

Early Withdrawal Policy

Same core policy as regular FloorPlan Rewards — with military-specific additions.

24-hour grace period: Full refund of contributions if withdrawn within 24 hours of commitment lock. No questions asked.
Voluntary early withdrawal penalty: Prorated based on time remaining. Penalty % = percentage of commitment time NOT completed. Example: 62% of commitment completed = 38% of funds forfeited.
$9.99/month subscription fee: NEVER refundable under any circumstance, including early withdrawal or discharge.
Reenlistment stacking: Each completed 4-year term adds a new 6-month coverage window with its own independent cap. Windows do not merge.

📋 MLA Enrollment Agreement
By enrolling in Military Loyalty Advantage (MLA), I confirm that:

1. I am currently serving on active duty with a minimum of 1 year remaining before my EOS/EAS date.

2. I have selected my enrollment track (Steady or Accelerator) and understand that I may switch tracks within the first 30 days of enrollment. After 30 days, my track is locked for the commitment term.

3. I understand that benefit payouts are based on my DD-214 home of record at separation — not my self-reported ZIP code during enrollment.

4. I understand the discharge rules: full benefits upon honorable EOS discharge, 1 month coverage for general discharge with funds locked until original EAS, and complete forfeiture for OTH/BCD/dishonorable discharge.

5. I understand early withdrawal penalties apply on a prorated basis and that my $9.99/month subscription fee is never refundable.

6. NON-TRANSFERABILITY: MLA benefits are strictly personal and non-transferable. MLA benefits CANNOT be divided, assigned, or transferred to a spouse, former spouse, beneficiary, or any other party in a divorce, legal separation, court order, or any other legal proceeding. Any attempt to assign or transfer these benefits is void and unenforceable.

7. Reenlistment can stack additional 6-month coverage windows, each with its own independent benefit cap, as verified by admin.
